Nursing Home & Adult Foster Home Project

How the nursing home and adult foster home  project works is each year we aim to get enough supplies for every elder in the nursing home, that my dad was in, and residents in the Adult Foster Homes.   We raise funds to purchase 80 to 90 blankets, slipper socks, baby powder, Vaseline, hand lotion, shampoo, wipes, and other personal items. We also aim to get each resident a Christmas card, Small gift  & Gift bag to place their items in.

Members or anyone can donate to PayPal, or if you choose you can send blankets, and the other listed items just ask me for the address to send items to. Each year we bag them up for male or female and take them to the nursing home on Christmas Eve. We have been doing this since 1994 because my mother's death showed me just how lonley people can be when sick etc, and the elders in the nursing home my dad was in do not have no one at all; I mean when they would see me coming to see my dad they all would follow me and talk to me and want me to visit them etc. I used to be able to go twice a week and read to the elders there, but now that I am not able to due to my health issues; I know they are so lonely. Each Christmas Eve when my son and I go to the nursing home; all the residents flock to the entrance because they are so happy to see me coming. These elders are so very happy to see me.  The Adult Foster Home folks are very greatful and happy to get their gifts. It is so touching ♥
